At Aero Services, safety is paramount!
Our procedures and safe work practices have been designed with a safety consultant tailored to fit exactly what we do.
Here are some of the ways we stay safe
In addition to on the job training through our buddy system all of our technicians complete an In person comprehensive fall protection course through Benbow safety training for which they receive a 3 year certification. We also complete training through CCOHS for the following:
- working at heights
- ladder safety
- WHMIS
- Confined spaces: the basics
- Asbestos in the workplace
We are proficient in identifying potential risk, determining the appropriate safety measures, and the proper use of safety equipment.
We spare no expense when ensuring the safety of our staff and customers alike!
Asbestos
Our technicians are trained to prioritize safety on the job. And to report anything unsafe immediately to their supervisor. There are some well known potential hazards in older homes, like asbestos. Our technicians have received training on the job and through courses provided to them to ensure they are well equipped to identify and safely navigate these potential hazards.
We complete a checklist at each and every job where asbestos may be present and could potentially be disturbed by our work. This allows us to either work around the potential hazard safely, or to determine if other measures should be taken prior to our services being rendered.
Through the skilled approach of our technicians we keep these potential hazards from actualizing.
Our technicians have ladder safety training
In addition to the completion of online courses provided to them, all technicians receive on the job training through our buddy system.
When working with ladders our technicians complete our ladder safety checklist. This ensures that our equipment is inspected before every use, maintained at the highest of standards, and appropriate attention is given to the proper use of ladders.
Safe work procedures
All of our technicians are trained in the proper use of and provided with P.P.E. (Personal protective equipment) that is made readily available. We encourage all staff to be forthcoming about any safety concerns they may have.
We have a joint safety committee with representatives that have been voted in by the employees to ensure comfort in doing so, and that concerns are addressed quickly, and appropriately.
A friend in need is a friend indeed
Our technicians are trained to ask for help when they need it, not rush, and look out for the safety of their co-workers as well as their own. All crews are supported through routine contact with their road supervisor, as well as our main office. Communication plays an essential role here, and technicians are fully encouraged to reach out with questions or concerns at any time.
Company culture
At Aero we know the well being of our staff is crucial to the success of our business. A safe work environment in every sense is a top priority. Open communication is encouraged as we strive to create and maintain an inclusive culture within our company that all of our staff can thrive in. We want to bring out the best in our staff, and with opportunity for advancement, training provided, and the leadership of our management team, we aim to do just that!
